IMPHAL : The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, on December 17, demanded an explanation from the ruling BJP government on why the cabinet meeting, which was supposed to be held in Kamjong on December 16, was cancelled, giving no due reasons.

Congress MLA K. Meghachandra said, “The cancellation of the cabinet meeting after it was opposed by the Civil Society Organisation (CSO), United Naga Council (UNC) shows that the BJP government in Manipur is weak to govern the people of Manipur.”

“The present government have claimed that Manipur’s law, and order has improved but the cancellation of the cabinet meeting at Kamjong in the last minute because of the pressure from the UNC shows that there is no law and order in the state,” said K. Meghachandra.

“The impending inaugural projects and foundation laying initiative should be carried out at the earliest and have further urged the government to hold the cabinet meeting at Kamjong with no fear of the UNC.”

Manipur government was supposed to hold a cabinet meeting in Kamjong district on December 16 as part of the Go to Hills initiative by the BJP government, but was cancelled without giving any explanation by the Government of Manipur.
