Manipur: Assam Rifles seize contraband worth Rs 7.28 lakh

IMPHAL:

Assam Rifles personnel on Wednesday, intercepted two vehicles along the New Songyang to P Cheyang highway in Manipur’s Chandel district and recovered contraband items worth Rs. 7.28 lakh.

The seized consignment included Indonesian betel nuts of approximately 800 kilograms and 3,200 packets of foreign-made mosquito coils.

Assam Rifles personnel later handed over the two drivers, identified as Thangminlen Haokip and Thongkhomang Haokip, and the seized items to the Customs Office in Pallel for further legal action.
