IMPHAL:
Troops of Assam Rifles seized seven cartons of medicines and other essential items on December 5.
The troops intercepted the smugglers who were travelling on motorcycles.
On seeing the troopers, the miscreants fled into Myanmar, taking advantage of the darkness leaving the contraband and other essentials behind.
The seized contraband is worth Rs 8.19 lakh.
The items recovered and the four foreign-made motorcycles were handed over to Customs at Moreh for further legal action.
