North-east Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, called NEDA member National People’s Party (NPP) a political non-entity, during a campaigning rally at Wangoi Bazaar in Manipur on Tuesday.
“It is a small party that does not have a say in the national politics,” Sarma, who is on a two-day visit to Manipur, said.
Sarma also called the Congress a scrapped note, stating that the party yielded enmity among the Naga, Kuki, etc.
Highlighting the works done by the central and state BJP leadership, Sarma said that there has not been a single economic blockade since the Biren-led government came to power in 2017.
He further said that the Centre has granted the Inner Line Permit (ILP) to the state amid the apprehension of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
