Court grants bail to Manipur journalist

IMPHAL:

Journalist Kishorchandra Wangkhem, popularly known as Wangkhemcha Wangthoi, was granted bail by the Session Judge, Senapati on Tuesday after being arrested on September 29, for posting a derogatory remark against the Maram tribe on Facebook.

The 41-year-old journalist was arrested for sedition and for causing enmity between different communities.

Kishorchandra was said to be responding to a viral social media post made by the spouse of a high profile politician.
