Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen stuns social media in traditional Manipuri attire

India’s first Miss Universe and Bollywood star Sushmita Sen recently took to Instagram where she was seen draped in the traditional attire of Manipur's Meitei community.

The "Biwi No.1 star" looked ravishing in a flowery embroidered translucent silk Innaphi along with a matching handcrafted blouse and pink Phanek.

She had accessorized the traditional attire with a gold necklace, which is how Manipuri women wear it.

The former Miss Universe also termed the attire “mystic" as the photos on her Instagram account garnered thousands of likes.

It is not the first time that a prominent Bollywood star has adorned the traditional Manipuri attire. Actress Kangana Ranaut had also worn the Innaphi and Phanek from the same designer, Robert Naorem, in September this year.

Sen also won the hearts of Manipuris living across the globe after she stated, “Manipur is home now.”
