IMPHAL:

A National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) personnel deployed to douse the Dzokou Valley wildfire was found dead on January 5 in the morning hours.

The deceased Nongthombam Binoy was an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

According to sources, “His body was discovered on his bed at the base camp of Mount Iso in Singsong Village under Mao Police Station.”

45-year-old officer Binoy was the son of late Nongthombam Achou from Luwangshangbam Maning Leikai of Imphal East.

While there is no clear information about his demise, unconfirmed sources informed that he must have suffered a heart attack because of cold weather in the area.

A case of un-natural death was reported at Mao Police station and subsequently, the body was taken to JNIMS Morgue in Porompat town at around 1.30 pm for post-mortem.
