Drugs worth over Rs. 165 crore seized in Manipur

On December 7, operations team, arrested two Myanmarese nationals and four Indian traffickers in relation to supplying weapons and drugs, while on December 8, they arrested two individuals with brown sugar, reportedly supplied from Myanmar.

IMPHAL : A team comprising the Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted raids in two border towns of Moreh, and recovered a vast quantity of drugs and weapons, stated an Assam Rifles press release issued on December 7.

According to the press release, the team recovered one foreign-made pistol, ammunition, and drugs worth Rs. 165 crore.

The team also arrested two Myanmarese nationals and four Indian traffickers.

In another operation on December 8, the Assam Rifles troops intercepted a large narcotics consignment worth Rs. 2.92 crore along the Lalong-Khongjol route in Chandel district and arrested two individuals travelling on a motorcycle.

They were later handed over to Chandel police.
