IMPHAL:

It further stated that COPPK with, its motto “Save Mt Koubru,” aims to preserve the ecological balance and biodiversity by minimising the overall human activity in Mt. Koubru.

The committee stated that while it respects and sympathises all the religious sentiments of various faiths, it is against the sole objectives of the said committee to allow such human activities in Mt Koubru as it would create an "ecological imbalance."

Besides this, the committee advised all organisations, including the Mahausa Knba Lup to respect and acknowledge the status quo of Mt. Koubru and to not turn the issue into a bone of contention and contestation.

"No platform or forum nor community should try to claim ownership based on a particular religion or faith," the committee stated.
