Assam Rifles intercepts contraband consignment in Manipur’s Chandel district

25 bags weighing 100 kg each were recovered from the truck, and the assessed market value of the recovered item is valued at ₹13.75 lakh.

Assam Rifles troopers intercepted a truck carrying smuggled consignment in Manipur on January 4.

According to sources, the Assam Rifles team intercepted a truck carrying nearly 2.5 tonnes of beetle nuts near Madonching area in Chandel district of Manipur.


25 bags weighing 100 kg each were recovered from the truck, and the assessed market value of the recovered item is valued at ₹13.75 lakh.


The seized items along with two individuals involved in the smuggling have been handed over to the Molcham Police Station (PS) for further investigation.
