Assam Rifles apprehends PLA insurgent in Manipur

IMPHAL

Assam Rifles troops of Thoubal Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) apprehended an insurgent of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Andro Khuman Leikai, Imphal East District of Manipur on February 1.

The insurgent was identified as Puthem Sanatomba Singh, a resident of Andro Khuman Leikai, Imphal East district.

Acting on reliable intelligence provided by another PLA insurgent who had been apprehended, the troops of Thoubal Battalion launched a follow-up operation along with Manipur Police and arrested Puthem Sanatomba Singh.

The apprehended insurgent was handed over to Andro Police Station for further investigation.
