AIFF selects eight women footballers from Manipur to represent India

IMPHAL:

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has selected eight women footballers from Manipur for preparatory international friendly matches ahead of the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022.

The players will be part of the Senior Women’s National Football Team, who will travel to Alanya in Turkey to play friendly matches against some big teams from February 14 to February 24, 2021.

The players include L. Ashalata Devi (Captain), W. Linthoingambi Devi (Defender), N.G. Sweety Devi (Defender), Dangmei Grace (Striker/ Forward), M. Linthoingambi Devi (Goalkeeper), H. Daya Devi (Striker/ Forward), S. Ranjana Chanu (Defender) and Th. Kritina Devi (Defender).

The assistant coach, L. Chaoba Devi, is also from Manipur.

The AIFF selected a total of 20 players from across the country to take part in the tournament.

India will play three matches against Ukraine, Russia and Serbia on February 17, 20 and 23.
