Manipur: Mobile internet suspended after midnight ruckus in Manipur University

The Manipur University unrest continued on Thursday as reports of midnight raids at the varsity campus came to light. According to local papers, Manipur Police had arrested around 90 students and five faculty members following tear gas attacks by Armed Forces and Police Commandos at midnight . Mobile internet services has also been banned after the incident. Network providers such as Jio were banned until the filing of this report.
The incident allegedly took place after Pro Vice-Chancellor Y Yugindro Singh, appointed by vice-chancellor AP Pandey, entered the university complex to take charge as the V-C on Thursday afternoon.
Renowned Manipur activist Binalakshmi Nepram took to Twitter to express her resentment against the incident and tweeted:
