Manipur: Man held for making death threats to ex-CM Ibobi Singh

IMPHAL, August 29: Manipur is seeing an increasing trend in cyber crime cases, Cyber Crime Unit of Imphal East police have arrested a youth on charges of posting 'Call to kill Honourable MLA and former Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh' on social media site, Facebook.

The arrested man has been identified as Bobsu Meikam.

According to a top official, a special police team picked up the accused, Bobsu Meikam from his house. Police also recovered a Dell Vostro laptop and a Micromax mobile handset with two Airtel SIM cards from his possession.

The police have slapped cases under Section 67 of the IT Act for posting objectionable and derogatory comments.
