Mandatory for Mizoram quota medical students to work for State

AIZAWL: It will now be mandatory for students admitted to post graduate courses in medical colleges of the country on Mizoram State quota to sign an agreement for two years of employment with the State Government after completion of their studies.

This was announced at a conference of Mizoram Government Doctors' Association by State Health Minister Lal Thanzara  who said the decision was taken to tackle manpower shortage in the medical department.  Lal Thanzara also asked government doctors to give satisfactory mental, physical and spiritual care to their patients. He also appealed to the doctors not to neglect their patients in the government hospitals while being engaged in private practice.
