GUWAHATI | DEC 6, 2019:
A man from Assam has been arrested by the Mumbai police on charges of running a brothel located in South Mumbai.
The man has been identified as Haneef Sharakali Uddin, hailing from Nagaon district in Assam.
According to reports, Haneef was the caretaker of the flat and has been running a brothel in Marine lines, a prominent location in South Mumbai.
Security officials, acting on a tip off, raided a flat which is located at Jorawar Bhavan and arrested the accused. Two girls have also been rescued, who were forced into prostitution by Uddin.
Initially, the police had sent a decoy, who managed to befriend Uddin, and confirmed the functioning of the brothel at the flat.
Reportedly, the girls were trafficked from Assam and the flat is owned by a person from Malaysia.
