Inner Line Permit issue, tension erupts in Manipur
IMPHAL: The demand for Inner Line Permit(ILP) in the state is bursting out in rage with women protestors who vandalise the ruling Congress and BJP party in Imphal.
The women activist ensured that they want both the Congress and BJP party to make there stand on the issue of ILP which will restrict entrance of outsiders in the state.
The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) had given an ultimatum for all the political parties of the state until May 8 to joint hands in implementing ILP.
According to the police, they said that they weren't, "Able to control the mob and they were able to ransack the political parties' offices.
The CPI and NCP are supportive of the cause.
Civic bodies' poll in Manipur will take place on June 2 and political parties are treading cautiously on this issue.
It is to be noted that earlier on the JCILPS have called for an immediate shutdown in the state from May 5 to May 7.
