Indian Awaz Foundation comes to rescue for Assam’s woes

NORTHEAST | AUGUST 7, 2020:

The Indian Awaz Foundation is organizing singing, photography, short story writing, singing, photography, and doodling competition to provide relief to the flood-affected as well as the COVID-19 affected people of Assam.

The competition cum flood relief program is being organized, under the banner "Prerna" (Inspiring Lives), with sole intention to generate funds for those affected by both floods and COVID pandemic in Assam.

"Flooding of Brahmaputra river has occurred this year as well. Just as relentlessly and much more disastrously, as the state is already crippling from the fight against COVID-19. The people are left helpless while they are down, and the cries of thousands have strongly affected our morale and sentiment," stated the organizers.

The Goalpara district had the worst-hit with over 4.7 lakh people affected, followed by Dhubri and Barpeta, with over 4 lakh and 3.5 lakh people affected by the 2020 floods.

The participants will have to pay a minimalistic registration fee of Rs.99, which will also flow for the relief funds.

The winners will get exciting prizes, and also a certificate for participation to every participant will be given after the program.
