Govt of Nagaland bans contractual jobs

KOHIMA: According to State government official, it stated that the government of Nagaland has banned contractual appointments in all government departments. In a statement release, it stated that, "Any appointment made on contract basis, henceforth, shall be null and void. The administrative head of the department and the head of the department concerned shall be responsible to ensure that no appointment is made on contract basis and disciplinary action will be initiated against them in case of any violation." Adding that, "All appointments should be made strictly in accordance with the existing rules/procedures in force – through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) or open advertisement or through employment exchanges."

The Personal Information Management System (PIMS) was inaugurated on April 21. PIMS will give people instant access to accurate information about the government employees, including detailed information about their transfer, posting details and service history. All the departments have been asked to adhere to the instructions with regard to PIMS.

It is a comprehensive web-enabled personnel management system to help the authorities address the requirements for managing their employees from the date of their joining till their retirement.

On the basis of the information supplied by the departments, P&AR department has made entries in the PIMS database and generated unique employee code for each employee. Details of the existing employees in PIMS database should be updated on a regular basis by the departments, including details of service confirmation, posting, promotion, retirement.
