Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has said that Sikkim is the richest state among all the eight Northeastern states in India.

Addressing the public of Gangtok, Arithang and Tadung constituency at Reshithang, he said Sikkim is the richest state among all the eight Northeast Indian states.

He also reminded the public that Sikkim was the most under developed country during the rign of Chogyal (Before its merger with the Indian Union).

The CM also said that there has been unprecedented development in the state including huge infrastructural growth.

It may be mentioned that Sikkim has less than 8 per cent BPL population.
