#1. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport also known as Guwahati International Airport and formerly as 'Borjhar Airport', the primary international airport of the North-Eastern States of India. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport has been ranked as the eight busiest airport in the country among airports run by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

#2. It is located at Borjhar, 26 km from Dispur, the capital city of the state of Assam and 28 km from Guwahati and is named after Late Gopinath Bordoloi, a freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of Assam after India's independence.

#3. According to data available with the AAI, in the financial year 2017-18, the airport witnessed a footfall of 46,68,053 with a total of 41,172 aircraft movement making it the eighth busiest in the country. The first seven are Chennai, Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Pune, Goa, Jaipur and Lucknow, all owned by the AAI.

#4. Guwahati has become the aviation hub for the Northeast as around 120 commercial flights (both arrivals and departures) operate from the LGBI Airport every day.

#5. The airport is managed by Airports Authority of India and also serves as an Indian Air Force base.
