Congress CM’s could have aired their views on the Naga peace talks during Land Bill meeting with PM says BJP
Even as the Congress President Sonia Gandhi slammed the Modi government over the Naga peace accord, accusing it of not taking chief ministers of north eastern states into confidence and said it showed its "arrogance", the BJP has countered this argument by saying that the Congress Chief Ministers have boycotted meeting the Prime Minister, this was stated by the BJP Spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh in a televised debate in a national channel.
However it maybe mentioned that the Congress led Chief Ministers who boycotted the PM recently had nothing to do with the Naga Peace accord.
The National Socialist Council of Nagaland ( Isaac-Muivah) is the biggest Naga rebel group which has been maintaining the ceasefire with the GOI for over 2 decades recently penned the peace accord under the auspicious of the PM Narendra Modi .
There has been a lot of ambiguity on the question of Greater Nagalim demand by the NSCN as it covers states such as Assam,Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, interestingly the Union Minister of Home Kirren Rijiju is from Arunachal Pradesh and has recently stated that the peace accord is not final but 'work in progress'.According to critics if the Demand of Greater Naga areas will be accepted by the GOI then it would be a political disaster for the BJP especially in Assam, where it expects to do well in next years Assembly elections.
Interestingly there have been reports in section of media especially in Nagaland that the NSCN has maintained that they kept the demand of a Greater Nagalim , a fact which has been worrying for the state government's in the three bordering states.
The GOI for its moment is keeping a strict silence on the framework of the 'peace agreement'
