Bus carrying BPF workers set on fire
KOKRAJHAR: An escalating tension gripped Barama in BTAD area on Wednesday where an irate mob set a bus on fire after it met with a road mishap where a local resident was crushed to death.

The incident took place at 9 in the morning at Nikachi area where the bus carrying over 50 people to a BPF rally in Barama suddenly hit the local resident who died on the spot.

Then local residents in large numbers thronged the spot while a section of them set on fire the bus. But the passengers who were travelling to BPF rally managed to come out of the bus before the mob attack.

"We were on the way to Barama to attend a rally. Suddenly, our bus met with a mishap where one of the local resident was crushed to death. Then we came out from the bus. A section of local residents got angry with the driver who managed to escape from the spot. The angry local residents then set fire the bus. They have not harmed us," said a a passenger who was also travelling to Barama.
