GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi called for bringing government schemes to fast-track delivery system for the people to reap the benefits in a time bound manner. He was sharing his thoughts and vision on the second day of the conference of the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati today.
He asked the district machinery led by the Deputy Commissioners to perform for the poor and down-trodden of the society. He also asked the administrative machinery to adopt humane approach and extend governance even at grass root of the society. Emphasizing for a synergy in the service delivery system, Gogoi asked the Deputy Commissioners and departments concerned to undertake field visit and monitor the implementation of the schemes related to the departments. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to prepare a comprehensive proposal for up-gradation of existing infrastructure so as to ensure the access of all sections of the people to the services like health, education, agriculture and other employment generating avenues.
Reiterating his commitment to stimulate developmental activities for a sustained economic growth, Gogoi pitched in for awarding the best performing block in every district. For generating awareness about welfare schemes of the government, Gogoi also asked the district authority to put up hoardings displaying schemes of the government and ways and means to avail them. He also asked the Deputy Commissioners to take adequate steps for providing Indira Awas Yojana to people belonging to BPL level on a priority basis. Moreover, direction has been given to expedite the delivery of government pension schemes, construction of toilets for the targeted beneficiaries without any hassle. He also stressed on convergence programme to present a bouquet of government's welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.
State Agriculture, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rockybul Hussain, PWD, Planning and Development Minister Ajanta Neog, Cultural Affairs, Handloom, Textile and Sericulture Minister Bismita Gogoi, number of Parliamentary Secretaries, Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister MGVK Bhanu and other top officials were present in the morning session of the conference.
