AGARTALA: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee president Birajit Sinha sought the Tripura government's intervention to bear all the medical expenses required for a Chakma woman injured in the last Pecharthal REGA wage dispute in Tripura Unakoti District.
The president wrote a letter to Chief Secretary in-charge Yashpal Singh requesting him to take up the issue to the government.
In the letter, Sinha mentioned that she was wounded due to firing of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans at Pecharthal few days back. So, in this case, the government should take the responsibility of paying all the expenses required for her treatment.
The injured woman, admitted at GBP Hospital in Agartala was referred to ILS Hospitals for better treatment. But she could not be admitted there due to high cost which is just impossible for the family.
The woman suffered two bullet injuries on her leg and five on her backbone.
