A metal band from Assam — RAGE is back with another bang! The band will release their second single with a lyric video in less than a week's time, titled 'DARKNESS PERSONIFIED'.
ABOUT THE SONG
Lyrically speaking (on which the entire theme of the song is based), the song speaks about an abstract thing, it can be said that it's the journey of the thinking brain, it's clashes with the heart as both the brain and heart sometimes tend to work in opposite directions as we all know.
Musically, Darkness Personified as a song is a song with a full on progressive approach when it comes to its composition and arrangement. The crushing groovy guitar riffs, melodic clean sections and long guitar solos are in a way arranged as in to tell a story altogether musically itself.

The drum patterns and the bass lines are supportive of the guitar parts in both technical as well as in finesse aspects with groove metal esque rhythm sections along with various complex time signature and tempo changes throughout the song. The keyboard sections in the song are an icing on the cake as a final touch melodically as it provides the much required sonic atmosphere that the song demands.
Lastly the vocals with its unlimited variations and dynamics ranging from soft soulful clean singing sections to thrash and groove metal influenced yells,operatic soaring heavy metal vocal lines to demonic death metal growls and high pitched black metal screams provides the song with all the necessary dynamics and completion as it gives the whole identity to the composition in its own unique way.
The band's musical influences can be very much pointed to the likes of progressive metal giants Dream Theater,Opeth, Meshuggah, groove metal monsters Pantera,extreme metallers Dimmu Borgir, Cannibal Corpse etc with the signature touch of ethnic Indian Carnatic music which has been an integral part of Rage's music since its inception and so on.
