Assamese women’s entrepreneurial spirit gets a boost
GUWAHATI: The women folk of Guwahati can now get a platform for showcasing their skills and entrepreneurial talents as the The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurs, based in Guwahati,has been organizing various courses for entrepreneur development in the North East. A business incubation centre has also been set up for enhancing production and selling products designed by participants in the workshop.
The programme has been sponsored by the youth affairs and sports, Govt. of India which is a three month (May 9 to July 31), The IIE is organizing a three month training programme on ready made garments and Handloom, where around 50 participants from the state are taking part.
The programme is open for all women, and for those who are already into entrepreneurship are joining this training camp to upgrade their knowledge and business prospect, besides getting a govt. certificate for applying loans.
The workshop provide a platform for participants to learn various skills and art so that these women are able to further develop the products based on these lines and sell them out in the market.Women from remote areas also get an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills through this workshop.
