He informed that the Centre has planned things in such a way that every 15 days, union ministers visit Assam and Northeast.

Shah also promised a special package of Rs. 2000 crore for tea farmers.

Shah came down heavily on the Opposition Congress for allegedly not doing anything for Assam in the last 15 years under its rule. "In our five years' term in Assam, we have worked for Assam," he said.

Remembering former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi, Shah said that the political stalwart played a crucial role to strengthen the society.

Amit Shah lambasted the previous government for reportedly not doing anything for the Batadrava Than. "After our government (was) formed, we have committed to work for the renovation and upliftment of the religious places and sanctioned crore of rupees for that. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, a new development model has started," Shah said.

Addressing the public rally at Batadrava, Amit Shah said, "I am privileged to come here, the land of Srimanta Shankardeva where he started the Bhakti movement during the 15th Century among the people. Shankardeva started the religious as well as cultural revolution through Neo-Vaishnavism."

Addressing the gathering, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Rs 180 crore was sanctioned for the rejuvenation of Batadrava Than. "The previous government has done nothing for the Batadrava Than but our government is committed to working for the development of the Batadrava Than. Batadrava is the birthplace of Srimanta Shankardeva but the previous government did nothing to uplift the Than: Himanta Biswa Sarma.
