Sonowal apprises PMO and Union Home Ministry on Mizoram border situation

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has informed the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and Union Home Ministry about the prevailing situation along the Assam-Mizoram border.

Sonowal also stressed on taking productive measures and joint efforts to address the border issues.

He advocated an amicable settlement of the border dispute and to work with cooperation for maintaining peace and law and order along the inter-state border.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Secretary convened a video conference with the chief secretaries of Assam and Mizoram on Monday.

Emphasising the need to maintain peace and boost relations between the states in the Northeast, Sonowal further said that they must settle all differences through dialogue.

Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga, held a Cabinet meeting in Aizawl on Sunday, to discuss the border situation to maintain peace along the inter-state border.

Reportedly, some houses were burnt, and a few people were injured along the inter-state border on Saturday evening.
