Seven dead, several injured in Assam road mishap

GUWAHATI:

Seven people reportedly lost their lives, and 20 others were injured after a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck on National Highway-17 in Kokrajhar district in western Assam on Sunday.

The accident took place at Makrijhora under Bogoribari police station in Kokrajhar district.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, in a condolence statement on Sunday evening, expressed profound grief on the death of the persons in the road accident and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Sonowal also directed the deputy commissioner to take all steps for treatment of the injured persons.
