Man dies after being hit by a stone in Assam’s Ulubari area

GUWAHATI | Sept 11, 2020:

A man died after being hit with a stone on Thursday, which was reportedly thrown by a mentally unstable person in Ulubari area of Assam.

According to media reports, the deceased has been identified as Ram Chandra Sahani and the incident took place while he was walking under the Ulubari flyover in the morning.

All of a sudden, a mentally unstable person threw a stone that hit him on the head. He died on the spot.

"He hit him once and he collapsed immediately. I rushed to him and moved him away from the road. He was alive then. I called 108 but they asked me to call 100 instead. However, nobody received the call," an eyewitness said.

Following the incident, the accused has been arrested by the police.
