Karbi Anglong DC’s office declared containment zone after three employees test positive for COVID-19

The office of Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong has been declared a containment zone till September 14 after three employees tested positive for COVID-19 on September 8.

Sources identified the three employees as Partho Gogoi (Stenographer), Kanok Chandra Boro, Personal Assistant (PA) to Deputy Commissioner and Robin Teron, Protective Service Officer (PSO).

While speaking to TNT-The Northeast Today, the DC of Karbi Anglong, Ng. Chandra Dhwaj Singha, said, "On September 5 last one of our staff Partho Gogoi did not turn up for office that day. It was only in the evening we came to know about the reason of his not being able to attend office as he was unwell."

"I insisted Partho and other staff go for COVID-19 test in which three of our staff namely Partho Gogoi, Kanok Chandra Boro and PSO Robin Teron were found with COVID-19 positive. Their results came on September 7 and 8. Because of the detection of COVID-19 positive cases and from September 8 to 14 the DC office has been shut down, except the COVID-19 Cell and DDMA Control Room are functioning."

Testing for all staff will be on September 14, Singha said.
