Assam woman severely injured in acid attack

DIBRUGARH:

A 33-year-old woman fell victim to an acid attack on Sunday while returning from Sohum Shoppe in Upper Assam, Dibrugarh.

The woman sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Assam Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.

Dibrugarh police later arrested the attacker who they identified as Buddhadev Das. Police also registered a case against the accused at Dibrugarh PS.

“We have nabbed the person and started interrogation. The woman rejected his marriage proposal, and in a rage, he attacked the girl with acid on Sunday evening,” said a police officer.
