ASSAM POLLS 2021: State police puts in place software for force randomisation

 |

GUWAHATI:

Assam Police has put in place a software system that will depute all on-ground personnel from the state police force to their respective polling stations.

The step would ensure the randomisation of personnel, deployment, and total neutrality.

According to sources, a team of dedicated specialists from the Assam Police and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) are working on the project.

“As a result, Assam Police had a flawless execution of force randomisation under the watchful eyes of observers from the Election Commission for the first phase of elections,” a statement from Assam Police informed.

The second batch, comprising 25 youths, is currently being trained to operate the force randomisation software for the second phase of elections.

Besides this, Assam Director-General of police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta had an interactive session on Thursday with the young trainees and the NIC team to take stock of the training.

Assam will be the second state in the country to execute this complex task.
