GUWAHATI:
All personnel of Assam Police who had tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered, making the state police COVID-free, officials said on December 19.
"We are happy to share that Assam police is Covid free since the first person tested positive on June 11," officials said.
4965 personnel were infected with the virus so far, of whom, 23 succumbed to coronavirus.
"We pray for our lost comrades and strength to keep serving the People and the Nation," Assam police said in a tweet.
