Assam: Karbi Anglong police seize drugs; two arrested

Assam police in Karbi Anglong detained two persons and recovered 18 soap cases containing 179 grams of suspected heroin, on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a Naka was set up by a police team at Lahorijan on Wednesday, a Bolero heading from Dimapur was intercepted in the process.

After a thorough search, police recovered 18 soap cases containing 179 grams of suspected heroin.

The drug packets were concealed inside the speaker box of the vehicle.

Two persons have been arrested, namely Milton Chakrabarty (31) and driver Sushil Das (35).

Further investigation on the matter is ongoing.
