Assam govt to provide Rs 50,000 entrepreneurship grant to two lakh educated unemployed youth

GUWAHATI | SEPT 06, 2020:

The Assam government on September 4 has decided to provide Rs 50,000 entrepreneurship grant to two lakh educated unemployed youth of the state, Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The amount will be provided under the Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana (SVAYEM) scheme. The total budget of the scheme is Rs 1000 crore which will be given entirely from government funding.

The beneficiaries would include all members of self-help groups, joint liability groups and other such groups and federations that have organised themselves for entrepreneurial projects.

Only those groups that have been formed before September 1 could avail the benefits.

Further, the self-help groups will also be provided with free government contracting licenses.
