Assam Govt to promote all students from classes one to nine

GUWAHATI:

The Assam Education department, on Thursday, announced that it would promote all the students from classes one to nine irrespective of whether or not they appear for the examinations.

“Though schools could hold annual examinations in the first week of March, it is not mandatory for students to appear,” said Preetom Saikia Commissioner-Secretary of the Education Department.

The order said that classes for the next session would begin on April 1. The order also applies to all non-government schools of Assam.
