Assam Elections 2021: Himanta attends BJP campaign rally at Diphu

Ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates filing nomination papers of Bidya Sing Engleng from 19-Diphu (ST) LAC and Darsing Ronghang from 18-Howraghat (ST) LAC, Minister, PWD, H&FW and Finance, Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a BJP campaign rally at Diphu, Government Boys Higher Secondary School playground.

In his speech, the minister stressed on unity among communities, maintaining peace and development in keeping with the theme of “Unity, Peace and Development”.

“In the last five years after the BJP came to power in the state, this district has progressed much. We remember the state of Diphu town before and how much we have taken it forward we don’t need to tell anyone as everybody knows it,” Sarma said.

“It is an enormous achievement that in the past five years all tribes and communities in Karbi Anglong have lived together in peace, tranquillity and unity. Along with peace comes development, and with development, people have a contended environment, and with in place, all the extremist organisations have returned to the mainstream,” added Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The minister also spoke on Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India, which provided for Autonomous State saying that the demand of the people has been noted.

Earlier, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang while addressing the gathering appealed to the people to vote for the four BJP candidates for the sake of an Autonomous State.
