Assam: Chabua MLA Binod Hazarika files nomination papers from Lahowal

DIBRUGARH:

Chabua MLA Binod Hazarika on Monday filed nomination for Lahowal constituency after the party high command decided to field him from Lahowal.

Lahowal MLA Rituparna Baruah was also present with Binod Hazarika during his nomination.

Speaking to media persons, Binod Hazarika said, “Party has fielded me from Lahowal constituency. So, it is the party’s decision and I will comply with the decision. I am sure that I will win by a heavy margin from the Lahowal seat.”

When asked is Assam Jatiya Parishad a factor, Binod Hazarika replied, “During the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 movement they burnt my house and this time the people will show them the door.”

Congress candidate Manoj Dhanowar also filed his nomination papers for Lahowal constituency.

“I will definitely win from the constituency because this time people will vote for the Congress,” he said.
