A camp mode programme is underway across various educational institutions in southern Assam’s Hailakandi district to speed up Aadhaar enrollment among students.
An official notification issued by Haliakandi additional deputy commissioner, R.K Dam stated they had launched the camp mode programme in different institutions to boost Aadhaar enrollment.
The order stated that the principal or headmaster of the concerned institution has to ensure that students come forward for Aadhaar enrollment.
“The principal or headmaster has to engage a verifier from their schools to verify the Aadhaar forms during camp mode operation. The verifier will also cross-check the documents furnished by the students such as name, address proof, age proof,” the notification said.
The empanelled vendor would provide equipment and required manpower in the institutions for the Aadhaar enrollment programme.
The state education department had rolled out the free Aadhaar enrollment drive for around 70 lakh school students on November 9 last year.
The enrollment drive covers students of classes I to XII in all government and private schools.
The programme aims to cover over 66,133 schools by March 2021.
