GUWAHATI:

An adult leopard, which strayed into a girls hostel in Hengrabari locality on Monday morning, was rescued after a meticulous four-hour operation conducted by personnel from the Assam State Zoo, Wildlife Division, Territorial Division and state police.

According to sources, the leopard had gotten itself trapped under a cane sofa in the verandah of the hostel's ground floor.

The rescue team took no chances and made arrangements to get to a vantage point before finally tranquilising the animal and safely transporting it away to the state zoo in a cage.
