98.35 per cent fencing work along Assam-Bangladesh border completed

GUWAHATI:

Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on December 28 said that 98.35 per cent fencing work at Assam-Bangladesh border has been completed.

Patowary said that 1.65 per cent fencing work is pending because of the objection raised by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

He also informed that as per the provision of the Assam Accord 1,34,810 illegal citizens have been detected in Assam and nearly 30 thousand of them are expelled from the country so far.
