Assam: Woman set ablaze by husband, in-laws in Goalpara after failure to bring dowry

In yet another instance of crime against women, it has been reported that a woman was allegedly set ablaze by her husband and her in-laws in Goalpara district of Assam.

The incident took place after she allegedly failed to bring expected dowry after the marriage. The incident took place in Goalpara district's Krishnai area on Saturday night.

The woman was shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
The victim's family members have lodged a complaint with the police against the husband and father-in-law who have been identified as Shahjahan Ali and Jamal Ali. The family members of the woman claimed that her in-laws tortured her and demanded dowry.
