Assam: Schools re-open in 11 districts as normalcy returns in state

GUWAHATI | December 23, 2019:

In Assam, schools re-opened today in 11 districts as normalcy returns in the state.

Senior officials in the Education department said that schools upto 12th standard remained close due to protest from 11th of this month including in Guwahati.

It is to be mention that, the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, seeks to grant Indian citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
