Assam: Rs. 45 crore grants for college and university in Kokrajhar!

Guwahati, June 2, 2017: Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced grants of Rs. 45 crore for two colleges in Kokrajhar on June 2.

He visited Bineswar Brahma Engineering College, Kokrajhar to review college facilities and interact with students, faculty. "I am extremely glad to share that we announced a grant of Re 20 crore to the college which shall be utilised towards construction of a 250 seat girls' hostel, procurement of 2 buses for transportation, construction of an administrative block and early recruitment of all vacant positions", he was quotes as saying.

He also visited Bodoland University, Kokrajhar to review the quality of education, facilities provided & affiliations of colleges. "It was nice meeting the Head of Departments (HODs) and Professors of various department. I am also glad, we announced a grant of Re 25 crore for upgrading the University's infrastructure" he said.

In the meantime, he also took a review meeting with officials for preparations of upcoming Ambubachi Mela which is scheduled to be held on 22-25 June, 2017 at Guwahati.
