Assam road accident: Public outraged over student’s death!
It took no time for locals to react who nabbed the driver and beat him up. Police had a tough time to rescue the driver. "How can trucks and large pick are allowed to ply on city streets during peak hours. Police and the administration have been allowing these vehicles to ply illegally here," said a local. Police have already taken the driver in custody. At present, the driver is undergoing treatment.
Since 2001 till May 2016, at least 3379 people have died in road mishaps in the city.
