GUWAHATI | September 30, 2019:
A total of 123 cattle were seized by Assam police on Sunday at the Dharamtul area of Morigaon district.
Reportedly, the cattle were being smuggled to Bangladesh from India. At least twelve persons have been arrested in connection to cattle smuggling.
Police officials said that they intercepted five trucks with 126 cattleheads at Dharamtul. All the arrested 12 persons were drivers, handymen and helpers of the trucks.
