Assam: Man allegedly throws ailing mother into Kolong River, body yet to be traced

GUWAHATI | August 9, 2018:

In an incident that took place in the city, a man allegedly killed his ailing mother by throwing her into a river in Nagaon. The incident took place on Wednesday night near Nagaon Girls College.

The deceased mother, identified as Ratna Devi Agarwal who hails from Jamunamukh, was living with her son, Pramod Agarwal in a rented house in Haiborgaon's Marwaripatty.

Agarwal said that his mother was paralyzed and due to which he had to leave his job so to take care of his mother.

Due to financial crisis and being unable to bear it, Agarwal had planned to kill his mother and himself.

As per to the reports, Agarwal first took his mother in a rickshaw and pushed her into the Kolong river. As he was intoxicated the plan could not be successfully executed, claimed Agarwal.

Meanwhile, the SDRF is carrying out massive operations to trace the victim. Agarwal has been arrested by the police.
