Assam: IPS Officer from the state now in NIA!

Guwahati, Jan 6: IPS Officer of Assam, Dr Sanjukta Parashar will be joining NIA(National Investigation Agency) as a SP. The IPS Officer was formerly the AIGP of Assam police and now appointed for four years in NIA.

Here are a few facts about Parashar that you may like to know.

  1. An IPS officer of 2006 batch, Parashar was first posted as the Assistant Commandant of Makum in 2008. She was soon given the responsibility of controlling the clashes between Bodo and illegal Bangladeshi militants
  2. Widely recognised for her commendable service in the force in taking down 16 militants, arresting over 64 and seizing tons of arms and ammunition in just 15 months.
  3. She is not all brawn as well. She has a doctoral degree to her numerous accolades in US foreign policy.
  4. She is the face of terror for militant outfits as well. Death threats have not stopped her in the past and will not anytime soon as well.
